Good morning, thanks Gers. I didn't see Mary Berry's programme in Whitby on Monday, I'll look for it on catch up.
It's fine here, as was yesterday. Cold of course, but we're used to that. It's so nice to see the sun after the awful winter we've had.
Rosy, I was very sorry to read that you'd lost Lyla. It's heart breaking isn't it. We always had cats, and I well remember how it felt when one of them died.
I went to my friend's yesterday with her trousers, stayed for a chat, and called at the supermarket on the way home. Spent the afternoon tidying a big wardrobe so there's now a bag to go to the cs.
Nothing much happening today except for a routine blood test.
Thoughts to the sad and poorly.
Take care folks.14 -
Morning allLovely sunny morning this morning and the temperature is definitely better. After a few cryptic general comments on Faceache from my DGD about 'keeping in touch with people' out of the blue last night i had a message from her saying she was in hospital with suspected pre-eclampsia as she knows that I had that when pregnant with her dad and wanted to discuss symptoms etc. Treading carefully and asked her to keep in touch to tell me how she gets on and see where it goes. She's 33 weeks at the moment.Managed to plant some seeds yesterday and will get out into the garden again today. Good for the soul!Hope everyone has a good day x13

Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers I’m going to a cleaning job in a minute then back to get my haircut it’s like a mop . I made a ham joint and some peas pudding yesterday delicious so that’s what to eat later I’m going to do a bit salad and some baby potatoes but there will be plenty left for the next couple of days . It’s lovely and bright but chilly again but we have had a lovely couple of days as it has warmed up later it makes everyone feel so much better I’ve been out most of the afternoons with the little dog and just bumping into people and having a good natter . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Wall to wall blue sky and sunshine with temps up to 17 deg for us. That will do nicely! I had a rubbish night last night but the fresh air might perk me up a bit.
Yesterday was lovely too and it felt so nice to be wandering about in the sunshine minus scarves, gloves etc! It was Skipton as usual and it was so nice to see lots of folk milling around the market stalls. Whether they were just looking or actually buying I don't know. Bus buddy bought a lovely blue Kipling lookalike bag and I regretted not getting one myself. Maybe next time!
Grounded today so I will get the kitchen and bathroom cleaned first job and then maybe I will finally get out in the back garden and give it a good sort out. It will be a stop start leg resting affair as usual unfortunately. First job I want to move the solar lights and ornaments around.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all stay safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning everyone
The weather was lovely here yesterday and looks like it will be the same today. Little one was here in the afternoon, we spent most of our time outside in the garden or out the front with her riding her bike. At long last, she seems to be slowly getting better and is less anxious about being away from her mummy, fingers crossed it lasts.
The man from the council who I thought was coming to put a second stair rail up, was in the house 2 minutes - he measured the wall and said it's a two man job and left! I said 'well can I not just hold the other end?'...oh no you can't do that...never mind, he came in time for me to go out for my shopping, so at least I got that done.
Right best get some jobs done. I'll ring the pharmacy at Boots when they open to see if my prescription is ready, if it is I'll go in for it and get the bus down to work from town.
Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off. As promised, it's looking good out there with cloudless blue skies, no wind and maybe up to 16 deg.
I took the meter readings yesterday and was pleased to see both gas and electricity usage were down on the previous month; the few warmer days I didn't need the heating on obviously made a difference as did the lighter evenings. Long may it continue! Two loads of washing done, then out for a short walk - the guest bedroom can wait until the weekend for its dust and vac.
A council workman turned up unexpectedly in the afternoon (luckily I was in) and has replaced the door control entry handset that wasn't working. When the Housing Manager visited last week he said he'd report it for me - he obviously gets quicker results than I can! @dp1 - I'm sorry to hear you didn't get your stair rail done and hope it won't be too long before it happens.
I've ordered the tape I need for the bags and some paint colour samples that should be here tomorrow so I'll get some swatches on the walls this weekend to see which colour I prefer.
Today I'm having a walk to the SM for a few bits and bobs that I need but will catch the bus back as it's uphill all the way. After that it will be just general pottering. Not sure about tea tonight, I might just have a salad.
Have a good day whatever you're planning and enjoy the sunshine while it's here. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all
Beautiful bright day here but still slightly chilly I have left the back doors open so the dogs can come and go as they please otherwise it’s let dogs out - let dogs in and repeat all day!
Rob is still poorly bless him so a day off for me, I will get the dogs out later for a walk and then the day is mine I’m sure I will find some jobs to do, I have a couple of courses I need to do so may do some later.
OH is poorly today, we have suspected for a while that he might be gluten intolerant I have bought GF pasta etc, last night I made the pizzas using bases from Lidl which were delicious but he has been suffering all night with upset / bloated tummy looks like we will have to stick to the GF for him from now on.
Dinner tonight will be pork chops cubed garlic potatoes and green beans. I have put a load of DD’s washing on this morning and there is another to go in after it can all be hung out today.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Afternoon All
It's a lovely sunny day here and quite warm but this morning was -3 when I was hanging out the washing before work!
My car has failed it's MOT as there are no back brakes - they've worn away completely. The chap asked if I had heard a noise from the car, I told him if I don't hear a noise I get worried! Anyway apparently it's fixed and will be brought back to work by the time I finish, thought I was going to have to get the bus home.
Hope your OH and Rob are feeling better Ruby.
Well done to your housing chap York Lass.
Glad your little one is gradually regaining her confidence dp1.
Allie - I also raked the grass and cut it last night, could be there forever trying to get the moss out. If the moss wasn't there it wouldn't be green!
Right, must get on with work. Take care. XX9
