Both Asda and Tesco seem to have discontinued the low sugar and salt baked beans multipacks.  The singles are still available but obviously at the slightly higher price for 4.  So trying to be a little bit healthier is more expensive.  Why can they not put these basics on multibuy offers which would at least save a bit of packaging and multiple product lines ?

I can still order the Tesco ones - maybe it's a local delisting where you live?

Asda is cutting their range by 20% to improve efficiency, so expect a lot of products to disappear over the next few months.

I'd much prefer to have a quantity discount like Tesco do with some soups so that 1 tin is £1.25, 5 is £5 etc.  Good savings but less waste as there's none of the plastic or cardboard wrappers.

As for low sugar - I'm always dubious of that as it generally means they add a lot of sweetener instead which is vile.

As someone who is very meticulous regarding health, it is incredible the merry-go-ground Tesco goes on with launching healthy food options, then discontinuing them a couple of months later, again and again (same happens with a lot of their meat alternative products as well).

The problem is protein is generally more expensive than fat or carbs, so healthier foods (which are typically lower in fat and sugar/carbs) are usually more expensive. It feels like their purchasing team think the consumer will outweigh the price for the health benefits, but reality proves they don't (especially not in a cost of living crisis). Meanwhile turnover for companies like Nestle only ever increases.
