Council Tax Reband

Hi..I moved into a new build house last year. This is the only new build in the road amongst a majority of bungalows. As it is a new build my council tax has been banded as E. The majority on the lane are D though there are a couple of E's as well. Next door is a semi detached house and is banded as a D. The 1991 price index puts me the cups between D and E though the property didn't even exist in 1991. I don't want to annoy the neighbours in case there's go up however land wise a lot of the bungalows have more squared metres then our property. What should I do...

You need to compare the CT band of your house with those of other detached houses in the area built from the 1980s onwards of a similar size. There is no point in comparing it with bungalows and semi detached houses. House price indices are inaccurateIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

There is a similar house on the market at present at a higher market value then ours...Slight bigger and on a prestige road in the area..just over that mile radius. That is banded at a D..would that work?0
