NI Credits When Child (young adult) in Full-Time Education

Hi all, new to this so here goes.
Although it has probably been covered in past posts, I am trying to check my wife's NI credits for the period our son was in full-time 'A' level education. Checking her NI record it would appear that the credits fall short past his 16th birthday. How do we check or claim, if indeed we can, the credit for this period?
Thanks in advance!

NI credits for child benefit stopped at age 16 up to 2010 when it changed to age 12.0

Many thanks.
I am slightly confused (or dumb) so NI credits were no longer awarded on child benefit between the age of 17 > 19 (2009 > 2011) whilst in full-time education?

As molerat says, prior to 2010 they stopped at the age of 16, since then it has been since the age of 12.
Prior to 2010, the child would have been given credits for the years they turned 16,17 and 18, whether they were in full time education or not.
(in 2010 the number of years required to qualify for the full old style basic state pension was drastically reduced, from 44 (if male) and 39 (if female) to 30 for both, and so the perceived need for such credits was nowhere near as great).2 -
Helping my sister in law with her forecast. Her child turned 16 in Nov 2008 and she got NI credits as she was claiming child benefit. Is it correct that the last full year credited was 07/08 and no partial credit for 08/09?0
