NHS dental charges

Hi everyone.
Quick question about nhs dental charges.
I’ve had to go back to my dentist after a filling for a root canal on the same tooth. This is all within a 2 month period.
I’ve had to see a different dentist as unfortunately the one who did my filling has left. They have said I need to pay again as I’ve seen someone else.
I thought I’d be covered under the 2 month rule?
I mean is this correct? Surely I shouldn’t have to pay because he chose to leave?
Thank you 🤩

I thought it would be covered under the 2 month rule too. But was the second dentist seeing you as a private patient?0

Its not correct!!!!
I never get to see the same dentist, even within the 2 months.
1 dentist a went to a while ago tried to charge me tier 2 for tier 1 work. told her, she was very sorry (I bet!!!)0 -
No, both are NHS dentists. I’ve only been out with the new dentist because the one before left.0

If they have different contracts then the two month rule does not apply and you will have to pay again.Dentists are self employed , they pay for use of the surgery . The two month rule would only apply if they both worked under the same contract in England or Wales.0
