Halifax Mortgage with defaults

Hi, i am not sure who this will reach but i hope it puts peoples mind at ease. Myself and my partner applied for a mortgage with Halifax on the 28th February. Our total income combined is around £76k. I am 24 years and my partner is the same. We applied for a house which was my grandma's house and we bought it for £136k. 

My partners credit file is squeaky clean, where as mine is not.

I have 3 defaults, one is from 2021 and the other 2 is from 2022.

Two of the defaults are for £37 and another for £56.

One of the defaults is £265.

I have in total around 42 missed payments but non in the past 2 years.

The timescale:

28 / 02 / 2025 - Full application sent to Halifax 
28 / 02 / 2025 - Hard search's from Halifax and bank of Scotland 
28 / 02 / 2025 - RICS survey level 2 requested the 13th for a valuation and Survey.

13 / 03 / 2025 - Survey & Valuation complete.
13 / 03 / 2025 - Mortgage offer received from Halifax.

I was on here for weeks, stressing out about being declined and i read every forum there was about mortgages with Halifax. 

However we couldn't be happier and i hope this reaches people who were in the same boat as i was.

We also found the Halifax to be very pragmatic with their underwriting approach.

I had a 5 year old CCJ on my credit file (which was otherwise clean) and we also got approved.
