National Insurance Gaps

Hi
I have four 'Year is not full' on my national insurance as I left work to be a stay at home parent after my second child.
I was delayed in registering for child benefit on both my older children as I knew I wasn't eligible to receive the monetary payments but naively did not realise I needed it claim the national insurance credits while not working.
Is there any way to get HMRC to recognise I should have been entitled to the missing credits? (Not back dated monetary payments).

Not at present, but my understanding is that HMRC are currently putting something in place to enable people in your position to claim the credits

There should be a new scheme coming in from April 2026 where you can claim those credits. There have been a few posts on this subject. From .gov
