Hello
I have 1 year missing Nat Ins contributions and this was the year I gave up my job to care for my mum who had dementia. I was not a paid carer and she didn’t get an allowance apart from Pension Credit. Would I be eligible to claim for the gap?

You’re caring for one or more sick or disabled person for at least 20 hours a week Apply for Class 3 carer’s credits if you’re not on Carer’s Allowance, Carer Support Payment or Income Support Can you get a health professional to sign the form ?Do you actually need that year ?

You can only claim Carer Credits for the current and previous tax year, so you would have to apply quickly for 23-24!0

Yes I could get a Doctor to sign the form, my query is as I didn’t claim Carers Allowance (I just cared for her as she was my mum) would I qualify for the missing contributions?0
