CMS taking extra 25% click and collect?

I’m asking on behalf of my daughter who has a 10 year old and divorced from husband who is in the Armed Forces. She is using  click & collect due to DM . She has been on the phone for over an hour and a half again today trying to find out why she is getting less than what her ex should be paying and CMS said that she has to pay the fees for the C & C service for both her ex and herself so in theory her son is getting less than he is entitled to. Is this right? She’s at a low ebb at the moment hence why I am asking on her behalf. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Both parents have to pay a % in charges if the parents choose not to pay direct.

Yes I understand that but the CMS are taking all the extra % costs from the amount she receives for her son. This can’t be right, surely?

I thought that CMS only deducted 4% from the amount. https://www.gov.uk/child-maintenance-service/payments

If that’s the case - would it explain why the receiving parent pays both costs if the paying parent didn’t choose for it to be paid in that way ?

both parents have to pay. It's an admin charge and to encourage parents to be civil and pay direct instead of using the government go between.

OP says daughter is using click and collect due to DM (?)
So if this is a “forced” method due to one party or other circumstances does the charge to both still stand ?

Just trying to explore possible reasons
