Marriage allowance form stuck in post.

Options
Me and my wife filled in the form for transferring marriage allowance for now to the back dated years 2020-21. I sent it royal mail tracked 48 on the 3rd of March, and since the 5th it's been stuck in north west midlands Mc. Would it be a good idea to resend as the deadline is very close?

Nope - from the link provided

You can backdate your claim to include any tax year since 5 April 2020 that you were eligible for Marriage Allowance. If your partner has since died you can still claim.

There was something on the ML show the other week where it mentioned past years being paper form only.

Quickest way for  the OP to find out is for the person claiming to open the online link and find out.

You can also claim by phoning 0300 200 3300. The best time to call is as soon as lones open  to be at the front of the queue.

It would be worthwhile checking the personal tax account to see if the form has been received as Royal Mail tracking is not always accurate.

HMRC mail is all dumped in large sacks to be dropped off at the  HMRC sorting office where it is logged online when received.
