so just received the following email from my building society……
I write to advise you that I have now signed off your mortgage application and hopefully you should get your Mortgage Offer in the next couple of days. Please note a copy of this email has been forwarded to your Mortgage Advisor.
now they sent this at 4.40pm and i didn’t read it till after 5pm so i can’t contact them now till Monday ! do you assume the mortgage has been “approved” i presume the offer came straight away ?

Why do you want to contact them? They gave you all the information you need, just wait for the letter. How can they send you an offer if your application wasn't approved?1

i suppose my question is “what does signed off mean”0

If you have gone to a building society, it can be a manual process - ie an underwriter says yes but an administrator needs to issue the document.
I think this is the case with Mansfield, we did one or 2 with them recently and it didnt come through straight away despite being told it was all ok.
But in a nutshell, I think you are home and dry. Frustrating to not have it before the weekend but I would have a celebratory drink, its friday you have an excuse.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Ah Leek are proper old school or they were last time I spoke to them a couple of years ago. It will likely be a manual process. Dont worry, I am sure you will be fine.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
