My mum (Aged 65) has received a letter today from Lowell saying they have bought 'her' debt from Vodaphone. She has never had a Vodaphone account and these kind of things worry her. So i am getting involved. Thank you to those who have posted in the past and i did follow the link to the contact form which i have completed. We did not get a reference number though.
Do we just wait for a reply from Vodaphone now?
Thank you

I hope it's the 'Prove it ' letter you have completed and sent to Lowell. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1

Lowell buy other people's debts at a big discount. They get very little information and so sometimes end up chasing someone who shares some details with the actual debtor but is not that person.
Hence any first letter from Lowell should be responded to with a Prove-it1 -
Thank you for your reply @Grumpelstiltskin and @fatbelly, i contacted Vodaphone to say this is not my mums account. Is there a prove it letter template? Or just simply write to them saying I dont recognise these details please send proof that this account was ever mine?
Should i do this in the post or is email ok?0 -
Send this by snail mail to Lowell.

Brilliant thank you, should i send recorded to know they have received it?0

No don't bother with recorded it's too expensive, ask the PO for free proof of posting.
Don't panic it is likely you won't hear anything else from them, whatever you do don't speak to any of them. These letters are computer generated by the thousand and they just hope someone will fall for it and pay up.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -
