HMRC NI contribution delays

I submitted form CF83 by mail to HMRC, wanting to make NI contributions for years missed while working overseas.
Having checked online since, they say that I have to wait for a reply until early 2026! A one year delay in processing the forms!
Has anyone else got experience of this please?
Will I have missed the April 25 deadline or would this no longer apply to me as I did submit my application to pay for missed years in time?
