HMRC advice differs from what's online

I recieved an email from HMRC yesterday saying that I could top up by paying £824 for two years, one being 2006/7. I know that I arrived in the UK in June of 2006 and started work in September so I must have paid a partial year. However, when I checked online 2006 is not even listed. How am I supposed to find out how much to pay and indeed whether I should pay at all?

Unfortunately one of those cases where speaking to a human is going to be the only way forward, something that is close to impossible at the moment.Make a request for a callback, that should put a hold on the window closing Request a call back to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions - GOV.UK
