Stamp Duty and Remortgage

Myself and my husband have a joint mortgage of £280k on a property worth £750k and we need to remortgage but because I am older than him it makes sense for me to come off the mortgage deeds when we remortgage and just use her wages and age. I've had a look at the Gov website and it states that if I'm transfering half if we are getting married then we do pay but we are already married confused.com

No need to come off the mortgage just because one person's wage needn't be considered.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I think the OP wants to ensure his age isn't considered.silvercar said:No need to come off the mortgage just because one person's wage needn't be considered.0 -
Correct, we can get a new mortgage without my wages just his, but we can get a longer term with just his agehousebuyer143 said:

What ages and terms are we talking about. When I got my current mortgage I said I wanted to retire at 75 and Nationwide were fine with that.0
