Default Notice Letter Received

As the title states I have today received a letter from Lendable with a default notice with the usual demand for full payment, which is all well and good however this account was defaulted to credit reference agencies back in January 2023, why would they only be sending this now? They can't renew the default, is this just automatic before they sell it to a collections agent?
thanks!
thanks!

Legally a default on a credit record has got nothing to do with a Default Notice, you can have either without the other. But they normally occur at the same time which why they often thought of as being related.0

thanks both,
@ManyWays the letter refers to being defaulted and how tis will remain on my file for 6 years etc - which I know, and was issued ages ago! so just seemed odd to be sending me the paperwork now.0
