Future Pension Centre Calling Back within 8 weeks

I phoned the Future Pension Centre earlier, I was told that they would call me back within 8 weeks! I mentioned that if it takes 8 weeks that will be later than the 5th April 2025 deadline for topping up. I was told that as my call was registered today, I will still be able to top up even if they don't get back to me until after the deadline.
Has anyone else come across this? I left my name & NI number but I'm tempted to try again. I'm self-employed so the government/HMRC website tells me to call the Future Pension Centre, there's no option to pay online. Has anyone self-employed managed to pay their top-ups online? I'm sure that this is not possible. TIA

There was a news story today saying that people who can't get through on the phone can leave a request online for a callback, and the date they do that will stop the clock expiring on being able to make payments. So I expect it's the same for people who actually got through but were told they would be called back. Even so, I'd be inclined to find the new facility and make use of it to request a call and take a screenshot of that to prove you've done it.

I called and was told they/he couldn’t help me but would log my call and I’d receive a call back within a few weeks….. I phoned back and got a more competent or experienced person and they helped me immediately…. Still waiting for the call back…..0

I just looked and eventually found a MoneyWeek article* that listed the URL of the form:

I don't know but the call back option would seem to be liable to scam call callbacks, where people may be bamboozled into paying into non HMRC accounts. There is no details as to what the phone number will be listed as, or too what the people will say. I even called the number 2 years ago, and I'm pretty certain they gave me another number to call back which turned out to be a number involved in Barclay's bank fraud. So this whole using agency workers for such an in depth process seems to be ill thought out.0
