I wanna cooker but am struggling to find info/reviews

I've spent ages searching the web and even took out a trial subscription to Which but am still struggling to find any impartial advice on two particular cookers we're looking at.

Does anybody have any sites, or even better, experience of these two?

Kenwood CK230 http://www.currys.co.uk:80/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0558240602.1199276758@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccfkaddmmfhfldkcflgceggdhhmdgmj.0&page=Product&fm=5&sm=3&tm=2&sku=637057&category_oid=-30563

And Cannon C60DTC http://www.applianceplanet.co.uk/eshop/manuprod/C60DTC.htm?ref=froogle

I love the Cannon for it's looks but can't find it in any shops to see the quality in the flesh, only on the web. Having spent a lot of money 3 years ago on a similar, lovely looking cooker, which is useless and now falling apart, I'm loathe to buy it unseen.

The Kenwood we've seen and it looks impressive but can only find one review on Revoo (sp?).

Any ideas/views gratefully received!

  • Hi there i am also looking for a cooker ;-)
the only reviews i have found usefull at all to at least to identify any potential bad points of any cooker http://www.reevoo.com/browse/product_type/ovens
i think its easier to identify what you are looking for to iliminate cookers that you dont want
    e.g
size , fuel , selft cleaning, over fan ,over timer / light , effecincy etc

i think the best is to choose the cooker you want and then look for a supplier for then cheapest price , but someting to also consider the installation and removal costs of the cookers.

    best of luck...
  • Thanks, we've narrowed it down to these two and know exactly what we want. The Kenwood seems to have much better capacity - the shelves and grill pan are huge compared to most others of that size. It also feels very solid and sturdy. But the Cannon would look so much nicer in the kitchen. The dilemma is, do we go for looks and spec from the web and hope the cooker is OK, or go for the one we've seen and know is good but doesn't look as nice? Oh decisions decisions.

As an aside, will somebody please explain why there is a distinct lack of traditional looking 600mm cookers around? Lots of nice modern looking ones, but we have a small, victorian style kitchen and most just look wrong. Lots of traditional style ranges, alas we only have a standard size kitchen!
