I made a payment of just over £1500 in October 2024 and am still waiting for them to show on my pension forecast and NIC details. I have called HMRC twice about this, both took over an hour to get through to them and each time I was told that they have my details but currently haven't got the payment and will get the banking team to look for the payment. They checked the account that I sent it too and the reference number I used and confirmed that both were correct. My last call was at the beginning of Feb when I was told I should receive a letter within 4 weeks confirming the payment has been located and allocated but that it might take longer to show on my online records. I have not received this letter nor any notification that the payment has been found. I am getting very worried that the closer we get to Apr 2025 the less chance I have of the gaps being paid up. Does anyone know where I would stand with regards to the years being filled once they find the payment even if post the cut off date? Very worried as it was for 10 years worth of gaps from when i lived and worked abroad. Now back in the UK and I wanted to ensure I would get the full state pension.
Not really sure what else I can do other than call and have the same conversation with them again, what if they still haven't got my payment....
Any help greatly appreciated0 -
I would try another call, do it spot on opening time, then go for a formal complaint if not sorted https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-hmrcHow did you actually pay ? Have you got proof of the payment ? The payment should be allocated at date of receipt so there should not be a problem on that score.0
