Q to RAS please regards comment on year end ??
Start to deal with any valid accounts who offer settlements that you can afford. Always haggle, offer maybe 60% of what they want initially. You might even check their year end?

There is a requirement under the consumer credit act to provide account statements at least once a year.
Failure to do so means that the creditor:
cannot enforce the agreement until a statement has been sent,
cannot charge any interest that would have been added during the period of non-compliance,
and will not be able to claim any default sum that became due during the period of non-compliance.
This applies as long as a balance remains outstanding on the account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. This is interesting I thank you SC
question then if I cancel DMP
how would one know if any amount owing that the DCA quotes may even match the the latest figure v the DMP as to true amounts owing etc?
don’t want to mention the DCA here as this seems odd that no response from since purchase in I think?
2020 potentially although am going to check existing paperwork shortly as to transfer etc to be sure0 -
Could you also quote me the act in question under law so I can also use this information via any potential contact ?
cca act etc whatever subtitle is applicable ?0 -
Fear here is then that DMP are getting info then telling me balance is blah blah blah
then in cancelling DCA comes back with totally different figures as in higher is the worry given no statements sent for yrs0 -
Other than from DMP source I have in this case ?
regards to the amounts owing to the DCA that represent 6 of said debts0 -
Hence to say something fishy here going on as DCa may well be applying similar methods to many only to hide behind
either debts are paid ?
debts don’t no longer exist ?
debts unenforceable ?
have no idea on purchase of them of origin accounts etc ?
hence no contact from them other than stating so via 3rd party DMP to state they do?
anyone’s thoughts here would be appreciated

Need something definitive here prior approaching both DMP and DCA s prior cancelling current DMP
to go it alone as it were in my approach regards the DCAs that haven’t sent statements etc
all others I feel confident in doing so in order to proceed0
