Anyone noticed recently, well ever since Next took over FatFace, that some older stock has seemingly been relabelled with new product codes presumably to avoid being discounted in their sales. I've seen it recently before with a pair of jeans listed in the sale but with limited to no stock but when in store I noticed the same pair, some colour etc, with a new product label stuck over the old one and being sold at full price.

Even today there are a pair of green Breakyard Cargo Trousers (product code D25-178) in the sale for £38 with very limited stock but a seemingly identical item, even with the same promotional pics with item code of K91-607 being sold at full price of £59.50 with full stock available. I checked my local store  and whilst there were some pairs with the new labels there were a few that simply had a sticker with the new product code stuck over the top of the older label and charged at full price.

A retailer doesn't need to give a product a new code to decide it only wants to sell 10% of its stock at discounted price but it's an easier way to implement it.

Presumably if you remove the new sticker to reveal the old one then they are charging the lower price?

I just had a reply from Fat face and they're saying that if they're only putting certain sizes in the sale they'll create new product codes for it. So I guess those of you that are a 28L fill your boots, just don't accidentally pick up a pair with the other product code as you'll be paying full price.

I've never seen FF do this before with their sales stock, I assume this is a new initiative brought in by the new team.
