Received someone else's package but sender not replying

Just before Christmas I received a package I had ordered, but there was a separate package addressed to me but with someone else's order in side. I called up the vendor to inform them and they said someone would contact me after Christmas. They didn't.
I have since emailed the vendor and they haven't replied.
The package contents is minor (blue tooth headphones which they seem to give for free with lots of orders, and a kids drum stool).
As the vendor isn't replying I assume I can throw the items away or give to charity?

It is probably safest to send a message to say that if you do not hear from them within a certain peried, 10 days say, you will give the items to a charity shop. They do seem disinterested, but one more opportunity with a deadline makes it clear you have tried to resolve it fairly if there were to be any comeback in the future.1

You are an involuntary bailee of the goods, you should advisor the bailor (retailer) that you hold their property and give them a reasonable time to collect them, most legal sites recommend 21 days.
At the end of the time you can then either dispose of them (eg charity shop) or sell them. If you sell them then you should also tell the bailor that they have been sold and what the net amount was (sale price less costs) as the money is theirs not yours. Again you'd need to wait until they provide details to pass over the monies.0
