I work an 8 hour - 3 shift pattern of morning 6am-2pm, afternoon 2pm-10pm and nights 10pm-6am, 4 on 2 off. Should I still be paid the same as my colleague who only does the mornings or mornings and afternoons shifts? Their contact states they should be doing the 3 shift rotating pattern.

You can work exactly the same hours and be paid a different rate - it's up to the employer and their contact with each individual.

Its nothing to do with what the other person is doing or what pay they get. Your pay is what is agreed with your contract.
Normally in most companies you do get a premium for working a night shift though.
