Is it worth taking TFLS if pension payout is index-linked?

Spouse pension unaffected (pretty standard) by your decision.
Especially the easy picture showing spouse pension unaffected by talking the cash upfront and a comment noting this deal.
Most people I chat to with DB schemes are completely unaware of the spouse pension being unaffected by TFLS.
A very personal decision for sure, I have tended to see older man verses younger wife running the percentages and taking the cash on man's DB, conversely in this situation above, the woman doesn't take cash out of her DB scheme.0 -
Do you need the full pension to meet your day-to-day expenditure. If you do I would strongly suggest you take it. Otherwise taking the TFLS may provide useful flexibility. I dont think total benefit at death should be the primary consideration.0
