in Loans
Hello!
I received a letter last week from Barclays partner finance saying that I had taken out a loan for an apple I phone. I haven't and in fact own nothing from apple. It looks like this is fraud and someone has my details including my bank details. A direct debit was set up. So I cancelled the direct debit, changed everything on my bank and phoned Barclays partner finance fraud. They said they would send me a form to complete. Nothing. So I phoned again and no form. Then I get a letter from the complaints department saying there is nothing they can do. I've spoken to apple via phone and in store and they have no record of a sale but Barclays do. I've reported this to action fraud. Now I just want to close the Barclays account. Please help. Why is this so hard? Advice please.

Did they give you a reference number when you called?
Also did you phone the BPF Fraud Line or just customer service?0 -
Find their complaints department and complain ASAP- from experience that gets things moving.
Good luck, it's scary and stressful being scammed.0 -
Thanks. I am going to complain asap. Has anyone else experienced this problem?0

There is a good chance that the apple purchase is not in your name, & they have just used your sort/account number as the payment method.
Check your credit file to see what is showing on there. 👍Life in the slow lane1 -

They have had their bank details used fraudulently - that could well be scary & stressful.0 -

I have just received an letter from Opos a debt collecting company saying I owe £1.807.00 but if I settle in the next few days they will accept £451.75. I have no outstanding loans. Is this a phishing letter as when you go in webiste they want your date of birth and email address.
Has anybody else got this. The phone goes dead after 10 mins .

However if you search this site for that company consensus is to ignore unless you get a Letter Before Claim or a court letter.1
