I bought mine from https://www.dvdboxoffice.com and it was £152 including delivery. Luckily I didn't get stung for tax but if you do buy from them it's a risk you take, also they do tend to take quite a while to send your order but hey, I got my American PSP 5 months before UK release and £30 cheaper than the official UK price so it can't be bad!

They're also pretty good for games with the average price being about £20 compared with the horrific £39 I see UK sites are going to charge for UK games (pointless really when they're not region coded). If you can take the wait for delivery from Canada it's worth it.

Thanks for this, deffinately one to think about for games, however when it comes to the unit itself, I think most people would prefer a JAP PSP, simply on the basis that they can play Region 4 and region 2 Movie UMDs. The US unit can't do this.

Also, the JAP unit it fitted with a superior SHARP screen, instead of the Samsung screen that US PSPs are, and UK PSPs will be fitted with.

Hi Gibson, I would have to disagree with you about the screen issue, it's a hotly debated topic and I've still not seen any proof (especially on any of the sites that take PSP's apart for fun - <<madness>>) that the screens are from different suppliers, besides I can't imagine a screen even better than the one on my PSP, it's simply magnificent!

I take your point about the films though but, from a moneysaving perpective, I'm sick of paying through the nose for UK DVD's, CD's etc and the US UMD's are retailling at around $14 which is far less than they will here and they're also released far in advance to the UK.

Cost wise, I've bought 3 games so far and spent £60 (including shipping) and to buy these UK official titles (even over the internet) would cost me double so I guess which PSP you buy really depends upon how happy you are importing. In addition to the site I listed above this company are pretty good (and cheap) too https://www.videogamesplus.ca

Did you pay any duty/Vat etc on your game purchases?

    Hey Gibson,
No I didn't pay VAT/tax, I think it's because the games cost so little and the value on the customs declaration is in Canadian dollars. I think the current UK threshold is £17 and they work out at about £19. With currency variations I don't think customs are that concerned with such a small value. Just remember to order each game separately so that your totals are always low (won't cost you more with P&P being free)!
