Hello,

I am sure many people asked this before, but what is the best way of telling the banks (when waiting to default) to stop contacting me on my phone, and just by post? Do  I email them, or old fashioned letter?

Thank you :-)

    Send a letter:

    Dear (company name),

I am concerned about the nature and frequency of calls received to my personal phone.

Under General Data Protection Regulations I can choose how a company can contact me.

As a matter of due diligence, and for the avoidance of doubt, all future contact must be in writing to my home address only.

I would also ask that you delete all personal and work numbers that your organisation holds for me.

I understand that failure to observe this request gives me the option to register a complaint with the Information Commissionaires Office, which may result in a financial penalty for your firm.

    Yours Sincerely
