I pay £100 a month into nest from my bank account. Would it make any difference to pay from my salary for tax purposes? My employer would not be contributing any more.

No. You'd get the same amount of tax relief overall.Tomken said:I pay £100 a month into nest from my bank account. Would it make any difference to pay from my salary for tax purposes? My employer would not be contributing any more.
What would make a difference (but only in terms of NI - the income tax position isn't impacted) would be if your payments were made by salary sacrifice, as opposed to paying from your salary. Does your employer offer that facility, which would save NI for them as well as you?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
