Default date

Options
Is the default date definitely the date listed on credit reference agencies?

I have two debts listing the same default date which seems fishy to me. I'm sure I stopped paying them way before that because it was not long after I moved in 2018 and they've reported as defaulted in April 2020. If that is the case they should have been statute barred before they tried taking legal action last year. Is there another way to find this information? If I trawl through old paperwork which is filed in piles or boxes :'(  and find original letters would that be proof that the account defaulted?

    Yes, that would help.

Where two debts show the same default date it usually indicates that one has bern bought by the other and they are the same debt. Are you sure that isn't the case here?
