Best value for lightbulbs anyone?

No, I don't mean for the Lightbulb moment!!:p
We seem to use them up frighteningly quickly in our house, so I wondered if anyone knew of a good value place for lightbulbs. Maybe Wilko's or Lidl? I have bought the "4 for a £" one in the past & they seem to blow very quickly. Any suggestions gratefully recieved!

Love Suzi

Ikea ! They last ages, even the energy saving ones are sensibly priced and if you pick up an Ikea family card (free and stuck on a leaflet lurking in the store) you may even qualify for a 10% discount on them.
Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.50
  • Thanks for that, trouble is our nearest IKEA is 50 miles away!! (Purley Way). I will have to find someone who is going up there & get them to get some for me.

    Cheers,

    Suzi xx

But not always. Our Morrisons runs out quite often. I think Tesco do 50p energy saving bulbs? Some of the utility companies do a free energy saving bulb offer and Sainsburys had a free energy saving bulb day a couple of months ago.

If you just want ordinary bulbs free, try posting a wanted on freecycle. You might find somebody local who has just converted their house to energy saving bulbs and has a few old bulbs to give away.
