Does anyone have a paint sprayer?

I'm thinking of getting a paint sprayer as I have an developed an obsession with watching the furniture restorers online and they make it look so easy but its probably only easy after you have done it a few dozen times.
Ive also seen people spray painting internal doors and walls and it seems to look fast and a perfect finish but I feel that if it was 'that' easy professional decorators would be using them rather than brushes.
Does anyone have one, do they work or are they pretty useless? I cant understand why they never seem to run or show drips.
Any advice please?
