I renewed in Jan and got 20% discount on
 tariff....standard offer if signing up again.

I signed up with SSE, got bonus + % off, then switched away, than signed up again and got the same deal once again. It seems to be working just fine; when you're signing up, you are being treated as a new customer, even despite you had been with them in the past.

For anyone else who reads this - Worth noting their "discount" is off their standard Tariff.

We were with Budget Energy and at the end of the term they offered us a 19% discount but it was still more than were were paying with them and notably more expensive than the best deal we found.
