WINE

I want to get into drinking wine as it is a more grown up drink and when I am holiday especially all inclusive usually at dinner the only option for alcohol is beer which i dont like or wine. I did try it about 15 years ago bit i thought they all tasted of vinegar.
.
I have been trying some out and like the roses so far. I don't like red though. We gave bought another rose and a couple white wines to try too.
I managed to get 3 bottles of wine for free using vouchers I had so it's a good chance to try them.
My husband is wanting to try wine again too.
So is wine more purse friendly than buying say bottles of cider?
Thank you
Also any tips for someone who doesn't like strong alcohol like sweet stuff.

I can't help with the wine as it's not to my taste. I can drink it but I don't particularly like it.
I've not experienced all inclusive without other options for drinks (like house cocktails)
But if your not overly taken with wine spritz it with soda or lemonade to make it sweeter/fizzier. Soft drinks are usually available on all inclusive and often include lemonade or soda0 -

Top tip, if you don’t like it don’t do it ..

Wine is definitely NOT purse friendly. When you buy a cheaper wine in the UK, the bulk of what you pay goes on tax, duty and the cost of the bottle, so that only pennies pay for the actual wine that you drink. Very poor value for money.

If you want to broaden your wine horizons it's possibly worth going to tastings. Personally, I find cheap wine (the sort you often get with vouchers) isn't really worth drinking and can err on the side of vinegar.
But to be honest if you don't like wine or beer there's plenty of adult non alcoholic drinks, like the 0% "gins" that are available.0 -
I don't think the wines at AI resorts are often the best quality so what you might buy here won't be the same. That's why it can taste vinegary.
What @HampshireH was suggesting is making the AI wine more acceptable. It's still a grown up drink, a spritzer, which many people drink to keep the alcohol down a bit. Just taste the wine first (white or rose) and if it's sharp then top up the wine with some soda or lemonade to your taste.
Enjoy your holiday. 😊0 -
All inclusive wine is definitely not the best so not much point in tasting various ones and finding your favourite as you won’t get Chablis for example at an AI resort.I have been to 3 AI resorts who mix red & white wine together if people ask for Rose 🤣
Best bet as has been suggested already is to have a spritzer, but I have never been to a resort that is only wine or beer. Usually it includes local spirits tooI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
