Expandable tiered microwave racks

Options
I’m just about to downsize to a place with a much smaller kitchen where storage will be at a premium.  There is an alcove (possibly where the original boiler was) where my microwave can tuck in on top of the worktop.  The space (to the ceiling) feels like wasted space so I’m looking at a 3 tiered rack which would provide a couple of “shelves” on top of the microwave.  That’d still mean a good bit of wasted space but as I’m old(ish) I don’t want to have to stand on a stool to reach storage.  Does anyone have experience of such storage racks that can tell me if they’re a good purchase or would I be better off without? Thanks.

Why don't you just fit fixed shelves? Or is the place rented preventing this?

The space is just a bit wider than my microwave so quite narrow.  It’s not a rented property but given the fact it’s narrow and to the side, between the integrated appliances, it might be an awkward space for someone to work in.  But, thanks for the thought, I can discuss it with someone once we’re in.  I’m dreading the whole experience (though I do want to move there) and just trying to think of an “easy” solution.

I mean I built shelves in an awkward cupboard using Lego for the legs/supports and cut to size shelving.
