I took flexible retirement in April 2023 and am currently working 21.9 hrs a week overall (shift working) and wanted to ask is my tax code 1271L still correct? I am also paying into another pension with the job.  Thanks 👍
What's the tax code applied to your pension payments?  Is it BR?

With so little information no one can possibly know the answer to that.

You would need to provide a lot more information for anyone to be able to help.
  • I took flexible retirement in April 2023 and have continued working 21.9 hrs a week with my reduced salary having a tax code of 1271L. (The same as my pre-retirement tax code) I also pay into a new pension with my employer. (LGPS)

My pension tax code is BR for the pension taken in 2023 and I also have a pension of £450 a month from a previous employer. Unsure of this tax code but presume also BR.

Is 1271L tax code still correct for my current reduced hours role ?

    Quiet possibly yes.

The number of hours you work isn't important, it's your income which counts.

Probably worth checking you are on BR code for both pensions and that your total income isn't falling into the higher rate band but it could well be the same code is fine.

Do you know what was added to your Personal Allowance to take you from 1257L to 1271L?
