Do they taste the same ? Since the Americans took Cadbury over all their chocolate seems to taste weird,I had a bar of fruit and nut the other day and binned it after 2 squares it was horrible.
Same thing happened to me:-( Someone bought me a huge bar of Cadbury's for Christmas and it tasted like boiled plastic -YUK! I had to spit it out and bin the lot. Aldi's chocolate tastes far better than Cadbury's
TBH there is such a hit of sugar when you eat a creme egg that you are unlikely to be able to taste much of the chocolate (or much else). Don't think too many people are eating the things for a gourmet high-class chocolate taste.
Very understated!
You're right of course, its the nostalgia that draws you to buy and then it dawns they taste nothing like they did before. I'll stick to HCBs this year.
I bought a box of 5 (£3.49, Tesco) about a week ago. Still unopened, just can't get myself into the right sluttish mood.
Now Hot Cross Buns, they're definitely not the same as they were - far better these days than the nasty dry things containing 3 currants I remember from yore. Didn't M&S have cheese'n'chilli a year ago?
Only problem is that, even sliced in half, they have to be squished to get them into theDualit.
Mine don't make it into the toaster - straight from pack to mouth unadorned, repeat until the cellophane is emptied.
