That didn't age wellooSTEVEoo said:Pretty bland trading update in the end. Overall positive I’d say and supports the argument these are well undervalued but market just thinks ‘meh’. Could be a long way back to the 80’s 😩

Thanks all, it is just preliminary talks - but I feel it does help recognise the value of ITVs assets - which is what I’ve been so sure of since I started building my SIPP position. My holding is larger now than the first post thanks to monthly employer contributions and also some fortuitous trading.I intended to post an updated Hargreaves Lansdown snapshot once I had reinvested my 1.7p dividend near end of November. My only annoyance today is that I can’t do that at 68p anymore!
I’m not selling anything right now as its only got back to the 80p level it was at a few weeks ago anyway - after holding for so long I’m reluctant to exit quickly. However the prospect of finally diversifying my pension into some other things is on my mind. Just not yet.

I bought a very small holding in ITV towards end of June and even this morning that's still down 4% on purchase, so even if the Comcast deal goes through and the share price sticks, this doesn't even cover the recent reduction. I have to admire Juno for his balls!!QrizB said:Roger175 said:What a ride indeed.... up 19% this morning.Could lose it all again if Comcast decide not to proceed, though.2 -
Shows how shares can be volatile and timing/context is everything. They seem down over 3 mths, 10% YTD, well down over 5 years etc. My company shares have increased by 15-30% every year consistently for the past 10 years but I probably wouldn't buy them unless they were tax free and BOGOF. Nice dividends too.
I guess it makes your investment journey a tad more exciting and you can get a lot more of them at those price points. All the best.1 -

Ok I’ll do the update today as it’s been an interesting day for my pension. So first of all since page 1 - I’ve managed to add approx 70,000 shares. This was achieved through a combination of small monthly employer contributions plus some speculative trading (with a small portion of the holding not the whole lot), selling into strength and buying back on weakness.
So total SIPP holding is now 1,121,992 ITV shares.
At current 5p a year annual dividend this produces about £56k.
Dividends are not guaranteed although ITV has paid 5p for 3 or 4 years now. This could of course all change if part of the business is sold. There is also the potential for a ‘special dividend’ if funds arise from such a sale…
In addition to the value below there is a pending dividend of about £19k, so total value just north of £900k.Still below the elusive £1m pension that was one of my earlier stated goals!
It’s a shame the HL website doesn’t show ‘pending dividends’ as part of the portfolio view.I did intend to simply reinvest this dividend like I always do. Although I would have preferred to do so under 70p on the recent weakness - never mind can’t have it both ways.
Well that’s about it, not much else to say. Still holding, still watching the news with interest. Will keep adding and trying to grow my SIPP.
