I need to contact HMRC via phone as I retired in 2024, this now seems impossible! I have a gateway ID yet cannot get past 2 forms of ID! I do not have a passport nor a driving licence. Does anyone know the number for me as I'm already retired & need to make top up payments but have no idea how to & seems everything is against me achieving my goal? Thank you in advance

... to make NI top up contributions towards pension for missing years if appropriate!0

Post retirement you need to contact the Pension Service first and they will send a written reply, after several months, of what you need to pay. Phone just before they open to stand a chance. (Assuming you mean you are post state retirement)0

I rang HMRC last week and was only asked for my NI number plus name/address. The number was 0300 200 3300. i was on hold for about 30 minutes with irritating messages telling me to do it online (which wasn't possible for my query).seniordormouse said:I need to contact HMRC via phone as I retired in 2024, this now seems impossible!
