Could someone explain if HMRC take into account SIpp contributions automatically when calculating your tax liability in the year they were made Thanks in advance

If you have told them about previous tax year contributions and don't file a return then those may be included in your calculation when your liability is finalised.
If you have made new contributions and haven't directly notified HMRC then no, they won't be factored in.0 -
