DB Bridging Pensions
Comments
-
For those who may be pondering or have the option of a bridging pension. Assumes a 2.5% annual increase (on DB and state pension) and includes projected state pension at 67. Based on a starting pension at age 56. Clearly very individual to the scheme, personal circumstances and long term goals and views. Break even point on sheer overall money received is between 16-18 years. It shows how complex these options are, maybe the most important one is your needs and motivations to finish early and lifestyle requirements. I thought some may find it interesting and the figures would change every month if accessing a DB scheme with early reduction factors. No decisions for me today but gut feel is option 2 and bridging the gap with DC provisions to 67:
