I have lived abroad for over 25 years, and I getting a small pension from the UK which is taxed PAYE. Where I live has a double tax treaty with the UK, so the government in my country of residence sent confirmation that I pay tax here the HMRC in June 2024.
The HMRC said that it would be processed by December 28th. I have heard nothing.
Since then I have tried telephoning (one hour wait then the line was dropped) and have submitted two complaints. Still not resolved!
Is anyone else having this experience?

Did you complete the relevant forms to claim exemption? Did the Foreign Tax Authority send the confirmation direct to HMRC?1

...and have you tried calling them around 8am UK time?
Also, do you have a Government Gateway account that would let you log in to your HMRC account online?
