If they can't prove it's enforceable you can stop paying it, no need to make any offersIf you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1

An update on my settlement offer and some more advice needed pls.
I made a counter offer of 25% and explained it was all I could afford. I did not request a CCA as the debt is not that old and I think they probably have it.
They have now requested proof of my financial situation. Bank Statements, Mortgage statements, income & expenditure, all assets, pensions car etc. They are in receipt of a recent income & expenditure statement which I completed with Stepchange. I am very uncomfortable with all the scrutiny although I understand why they do it. I am not willing to provide all this information. I have never missed a payment with them and would rather just proceed on my payment plan until my situation improves. Should I let them know this or just ignore the letter and keep paying on my plan? Sort of wish I had never responded to the offer they sent me as I’m finding it all very stressful.

Yes its all to do with affordability and making sure you are not borrowing the money off boyce down the market or anything like that.
Carry on with your payments for now, don`t respond further to the letter.
In the future, send a CCA request first before even thinking about making any new settlement offer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
