Can you apply for flexible retirement if you only work 3 days a week . Dropping to two days a week? (female aged 63 worked for 25 yrs in the local government)

I imagine it depends on your employer and their terms and conditions. I suggest you explore your employee handbook (usually online these days). Generally the larger the employer, the more flexibility they likely offer. Good luck1

In theory, yes. But subject to your employer's approval.2

Probably best ask your union. Some "club" pensions often have very specific rules which may differ from othersThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

Um.... not a union matter, at least not at this stage, and nothing to do with the LGPS being a member of the Club transfer scheme.
The LGPS pension rules and flexible retirement are only an issue when the member has Rule of 85 protections (in respect of pre 2008 accruals only) and wants to flexibly retire before the age of 60, which isn't the case here0 -
Thanks she has 3 very old small pension from around 1986 to 1995 that stopped with a total of about £2000 per yrs pension in total.. Then she has this 3 day a week pension that she has been paying into since 2005/6 until now, but still has another 5 yrs before she can get her full state pension, If she is allowed to go on 2 days with Flexi retirement her income would be the same or better by only working 2 days . It's very much an employer decision, usually based on whether or not they need to recruit to cover the day being given up - or even shuffle the work load around the existing staff.
As this lady is over 60 there are no employer strain costs to consider, which may help her case.0
