Morning all - advice needed on how to proceed if possible please.
Got behind with Council Tax over the last period due to moving house etc.
Received a summons at end of December and a request for breakdown of earnings.
Received a summons at end of December and a request for breakdown of earnings.
Sent that through and after back and forth with the Council - it was agreed by them they would pass this onto a Bailiff firm I already have an agreement through them with.
Thought that would be the end of the matter - however a few days ago - got another letter from the council stating that the matter had been heard in Court - and an attachment of earnings had been issued to my employer.
This seems to suggest that they have totally ignored the agreement we came to?
Any advice on how to proceed with this at all?

How much is being deducted from your wages? At least this way you are saving the bailiff fees.
But one debt with a bailiff and one priority debt suggests that you are in difficulty, so you have consumer debts as well, credit cards, catalogues, overdrafts, and loans?0 -
If you want to deal with the bailiff, speak to the council and they will cancel the summons.
I would have thought an AOE would be easier though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
