Finances When Separating with Child
Comments
-
Just an update - according to the CMS it would appear Rejast is correct and as there is one child only 1 parent can make a claim which mum has already done.
My colleague will therefore pay her £102.00 to cover the 4 nights she has the child but she doesn't have to pay him anything for the 3 nights he's responsible for him. Doesn't seem fair to be honest.
They did say that as he's the paying parent he has no obligation to pay towards anything else - so uniforms etc should be paid for by her from the maintenance and child benefits that he cannot claim because she is. Again that doesn't morally sit quite right with either of us.
Lots more thinking to do it would seem2
