Carlsberg Export - £1.11/litre E: 5/07/2005

In Tesco's GROCERY section - they are selling cases of 24x330ml of bottled Carlsberg Export lager for £9.98. The site display shows 300ml bottles - but I have checked with Tesco and this is incorrect - it should be 330ml bottles. They show the price equivalent (correctly) at £1.26/litre - this is based on the 330ml sized bottles. You can find them under the "Bottled Lager Multipacks" section

Now.....if you order 5 cases plus one single bottle at £1 of something else (eg Tesco Vratislav Czech Lager 500ml Bottle - found under "Bottled Lager Singles" section), this will take your order to a total of £50.90, plus delivery of £3.99 (choose one of the cheaper days). Then apply one of the £10 off £50 orders (maybe only valid once?) - which can be easily found on the Tesco grocery discount voucher thread on this site.

This gives a toal net cost of £44.89 - less the £1 for the single bottle of beer - gives a net cost (delivered) of £43.89 for 24x330mlx5cases = 39.6 litres of Carlsberg Export - equivalent to £1.11/litre.

Just the job in this sweltering weather.........!!

Edit: see post below...they may be 300ml bottles after all in which case the price would be £1.22/litre delivered.

Good deal if it's right - word of warnng though, in my three local Tesco's the crates are definitely 24x300ml bottles. Seeing as the online store takes stock fromy our local store, anyone in the Birmingham area will probably get what is on the website.

Hurdy - thanks for the warning....if they are 300ml bottles after all, then price is £1.22/litre...still a pretty good deal!
  • I tried this quite a while ago, and had loads of problems because they refused to honour the £10 voucher unless I emailed them the origonal voucher email (and I didn't have it because I got the code from here and not in an email from them).

I did eventually get my £10 refunded from head office, but they said I should work out the final cost of the BOGOF's because if price then goes below £50 I can't use the voucher... its a silly system really, as the checkout should work it all ou for you...

The cases in my Tesco's at this price are also 300ml bottles. So, I bought the 440ml cans instead at £9.99 for a case of 24 and used my "Best" magazine vouchers (cost 35p LOL) to get £4.75 off of it!

Great deals eh! I love Tesco's
