Indecisive and overly cautious?

Yep. That’s the one1

I'm a few months older than you OP, and if I were in your position I would already have my feet up. You have an ample financial buffer, and to respectfully reference your thread title, get decisive and stop being overly cautious - I would bet you won't regret it.1

Have you thought about what you'll do when you are cash and time rich.?0 -

Well, look away when I’m crowing about not having to get up when the clocks have gone forward, and we’re off to the seaside on the first sunny day…..pterri said:

I call these 'Good Weather' or 'Better Offer' days, when that four letter word 'Work' is no longer spoken and plans can be changed in an instant. Enjoy.Sarahspangles said:

I’ve reiterated that April is still my preferred date. I’d have to get a very good (ie stress free) task to drag it out to July, it’s not so much the DB it’s the fact that I can claim back some 40% tax. REALLY need to get out though so April is 70/30 likley….BrilliantButScary said:

I think we are in the world of being able to 'retire' but at the same time want to build some more. My OH really dislikes her job despite permanently WFH at 52. She didn't have kids so thinks she deserves an earlier finish!pterri said:

I am 55 and now upped to 60% sacrifice into my DC pension, purely to build it up and avoid tax. I am encouraging her to give up ASAP but I don't feel ready yet. My approach is buying another 10 days of annual leave and potentially moving to a 3 day week next year. I'd rather keep my links to the additional benefits such as healthcare.
I'm trying everything to not become one of those "one more year" people. I am surrounded by people who plan to go at 67.0
