I am a bit confused.  Reading the OP's other thread he suggests he may be leaving the UK and never coming back - or at least not for 10 years.  Chances are he won't qualify for a UK state pension if he has less than 10 years here.

Does he want to contribute for earlier years to get the 10 year minimum?

They have said they intend to get the min 10 but their EU years will take aggregated years above 10 so will get a UK pension however few they have.  Plus the class 2 route would be open to them to top up anyway.
