double vision no help from opticians

I have just been to Vision Express and had an eye test, but they said they couldn't make the lenses because my prescription is too complex. They advised me to try Specsavers or go to the hospital. I struggle to see and have autism, hate making appointments. I don't know how to get my glasses; my prescription is

- Sphere: -10.00
- Cylinder: -1.25
- Axis: 10
- Horizontal Prism: 10.00 Out
- Vertical Prism: 1.50 Down
Left Eye (Distance):
- Sphere: -10.50
- Cylinder: -1.25
- Axis: 135
- Horizontal Prism: 10.00 Out
- Vertical Prism: 1.50 Up
Aided Visual Acuity:
- Right Eye: 6/7.5+
- Left Eye: 6/7.5-

Personally I would go to Specsavers as Vision Express have go down hill imo
I have recently had cataract surgery, the referral was recommended by Vision express on 8th October, they informed me I would be contacted by NHS within a month
I waited 2 months and went back in the shop and they hadn’t even sent the referral off, When they did I was contacted next day and I chose a clinic then the op was done in the next 2 days
2nd eye after another eye test a month later I was referred again but they didn’t do their job again till I went in the shop
I have had both eyes done now and have booked an eye test on 17th February with Specsavers of course0 -
You could ask them to refer you to the eye hospital.0

I don't know how you go about trying to get an appointment with the hospital.
Specsavers you can make an appointment online. Or if you want to check they'll make your level of prescription before committing to an appointment you could e-mail them - find which store is closest / easiest for you to get to, then e-mail customerservice@specsavers.co.uk telling them pretty much what you've said in the post, and see what they say. They might say they'll make your glasses but want to check your vision themselves first because of the complexity of it. Or they might advise you just to go to the hospital, in which case you can then ask how to do that.
Or if you want to try the hospital first anyway, maybe e-mail your Vision Express store to ask?
(I'm saying e-mail as I know lots of autistic people don't like the phone, but if you are fine with phoning them you can do that, just need to find the phone numbers for your local store.)0 -
Specsavers do free home visits if you qualify0

Specsavers won't want to get involved with the issue when another optician is involved. If you need a hospital appointment then the opticians can refer.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

You need an orthoptic referral to the NHS, I doubt you will find a lens manufacturer to make the lenses now. You need to ask Vision Express for a refferal.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

When I had double vision after brain surgery I went to the eye hospital as a walk in emergency. They provided a prism to stick on my glasses as a temporary fix while they got my prescription sorted.0

I was told by my optician at Asda that my double vision was being caused by slightly misaligned eyes. this was after many years of suffering with the problem. He said I needed glasses with a prism in them. I ordered them with varifocal lenses. They did nothing for the double vision. I went back and he said they would change the lenses to normal ones so U ended up paying for a glorified pair of reading glasses.0
