I'm going to go thru this thread and make a list of stuff to try.

I make pretty much everything from scratch but I don't make brown sugar or loaves of bread usually  but do make flatbreads, focaccia etc, so all meals are from scratch but I don't tend to make condiments like soy sauce or piri piri sauce [ I like Quinta d'Avo from Portugal for that] . I do make pickles, jams, marmalade, sugo, salsa, kimchi, pasta/gnocchi. I have given cheese a go but I think I put too much vinegar/lemon in so next time I'll get rennet.
The only things I buy ready made somewhat regularly are tesco hash browns, Baxters asparagus soup and maybe once a year a tin of baked beans. Which is not to say I don't have tinned stuff, i do, like peas, potatoes for emergencies.

I can't imagine my husband having one emergency can of beans in the house!    We have canned beans. Use some tinned tomatoes as we don't have enough of our own.  I keep thinking hasbrowns would be a good thing to have in the freezer.

The beans aren't an emergency thing. I don't like them usually, and neither does my OH, if I want some, i make some using dried beans, tinned tomatoes etc...but sometimes I have a hankering for tinned ones cold from the can. Not very often, and I just checked, I have one tin I got in 2020 and it hasn't been used yet.
Yes bouicca, it's difficult isn't it?  i make flatbreads with flour and yoghurt but I don't make the yoghurt, I make kimchi but I don't make the pepper flakes, or the shrimp or the rice flour...
Maybe a definition of cooking from scratch is needed :)

Almost all cakes, cookies, cereal bars and similar

All pastry except filo and puff pastry

    90% of meals

    20% of yoghurt

All pickled beetroot, chutney, lemon curd and nearly all jam

    Salads including coleslaw

I've never tried making cheese. I have never managed to make a decent hummus so I always buy that.

My tips for hummus are remove the skins from the chickpeas, whizz the tahini first, then add some chickpeas, then an ice cube, then another lot, another ice cube, another lot , then an ice cube. It stops it overheating when you're whizzing and gives you a smoother texture if you like it like that. And use sunflower oil or similar rather than olive, it makes it a bit bitter.

Hummus - this is my go to recipe.  I tend not to have cayenne in the cupboard so substitute paprika. I use dried chickpeas, soak them for a few hours and then put them in the slow cooker on low for 6 hours.  I think using dried chick peas like this gives a better texture, but if you want to use canned just substitute one can for the dried ones.
